Steps to Clearing and Relining Blocked Drains and Pipes

We all at some point of time face blocked drain issues. Hiring a plumber or a drainage cleaning expert can be pretty difficult at times, especially when the drainage gets blocked at night or during the hours where the cleaners are not available. During those times, it becomes essential for you to unclog the drainage pipe on your own. It requires a little bit of effort and also certain equipment and tools that are required to clear the clogged pipes quickly. However, if the clogging of drains is frequent, then, it becomes crucial to call an expert.   1. Use a Bent Wire Hanger: It is always recommended to have a bent wire hanger at home. This is one of the important tools that would come handy when you are planning to clear the blockages in the pipe. All you need is a hanger that is used to hang your clothes, straighten the hanger and just insert it in the holes of the pipe. Once the hanger goes inside, create movements so that all the accumulated dirt like hair, pieces of clothes, and other things. Once you feel that the hanger has accumulated enough dirt, just pull it out without pushing it further down anymore. This is one of the easiest ways to clearing and relining blocked drains and pipes.

  2. Baking Soda and Vinegar: Most people use a combination of baking soda and vinegar to unclog the pipes. This is one of the most effective ways of clearing and relining blocked drains and pipes easily. This is the easiest and also the quickest way of clearing, and also obtaining these materials isn't expensive too. Hence, this is one of the best ways to clear the clogging drain. When the vinegar and soda are mixed in the right proportion, it acts as the best cleaning agent, and also once it is poured to the pipe, it creates a lot of fizz clearing the pipes. This is the indication of the clogs being cleared. Later, pouring hot water into the cleaned pipes would do the magic.

  3. Crystalized Salt and Boiling Water: Mix a bowl of crystal salt with boiling water and then immediately run it down in the pipes. This would also help in clearing and relining blocked drains and pipes quickly. However, this is pretty temporary, and the pipe can again start getting blocked.  But, when the pipes are clogged, this can be one of the quickest things to do to get rid of the overflow of the sink or washbasin.

  4. Use the Cleaning Agents: There are a lot of cleaning agents that are available in the market. It is always recommended to have a few packets of these cleaning agents as they can come handy during these situations. Also, when you have such packets of cleaning agents back at your homes, you do not have to worry about anything or get someone to clean the drainage immediately.   5. Dish Detergents: If there are no other things available immediately, you can always use dish detergents. Put them in the clogged pipe and then run boiling water down the pipes. This is a low-cost technique that would be able to keep the pipes unclogged until you get someone to attend the issue.
